As homeschool gains popularity, I proposed implementing a mentorship program that would match new to homeschooled families with experienced homeschooled families. This program would help guide new families in many areas, from curriculum to scheduling to social outlets. It would also include an Intro to Homeschool online course.
This interactive module, created along with a team of educators: Tiffany Goodman, Dixie Kalvels, Tony Helfrich, Laura Lawrence and Kelcey Roberts highlights how gamification can be used in education to increase student engagement , promote student agency and provide opportunity for collaboration and fun in any content area. Gamification is growing in popularity in education as it claims to foster motivation, and have a positive impact on behavior.
